Nate Downs
Assistant Yard Superintendent
Since joining GLY in 2010, Nate has been a valuable member of our Tool + Equipment Yard team, playing an integral role in the smooth operation of our projects. In addition to his supervisory duties, Nate also supports projects through GPR scanning services. Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He is passionate about all types of outdoor activities, particularly those shared with his family.
Tim Grant
Principal
P.E.
Tim spent the first part of his career as a professional structural engineer before arriving at GLY in 2011. He's since completed projects in an array of markets, from healthcare to hospitality, and a long list of high tech corporate campus facilities. On his current project, the University District Station Building, Tim and team are building a 13-story office tower atop Sound Transit's light rail station at NE 45th St and Brooklyn Ave. A former member of the UW track team, Tim traded in his running shoes for hiking boots, and enjoys exploring PNW trails with his wife and two sons.
Katie Focher
Senior Project Accountant
Katie ventured west from Missoula, Montana to attend Central Washington University where she majored in recreation and tourism and played softball. We love having a ringer on the GLY softball team! When she’s not managing the books for GLY projects she likes to golf, hike, go wine tasting, and watch the Mariners. Her bucket list includes a trip to every MLB stadium, minus Yankee Stadium.
Chris Kelley
Project Manager
Chris is a key player on our Interiors + Special Projects team [ISP], collaborating closely with stakeholders and trade partners in sensitive healthcare and life sciences environments. Before moving to the Northwest, he worked on several notable projects in Oregon and California. As a Project Manager, Chris specializes in detailed estimates, trade partner management, and ensuring high-quality, safe, and organized field delivery. Outside of work, he’s an avid backpacker, hiker, dog lover, kayaker, and camper. Fun fact: while attending the University of Texas at Austin, Chris was a member of the Caretaker and Handler team for Bevo, the university’s live longhorn steer mascot!
Isaias Villa Galvan
Safety Director
CSP, CHST
Before entering construction safety, Isaias began his career as a wildland firefighter, where he developed a calm, confident approach to risk management. That experience made his transition into safety and construction management a natural progression. He has since proven himself a strong leader, capable of guiding teams of safety professionals and fostering a culture rooted in accountability and safe work practices, making him the perfect fit for Safety Director at GLY. Outside of work, Isaias stays active through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, strength training, running, hiking, and golfing, and he enjoys spending downtime reading. Despite calling himself the world’s worst swimmer, swimming remains a favorite hobby [an unexpected passion that perfectly reflects his willingness to embrace any challenges he is faced with].
Danny Skwarski
Senior Project Manager
Danny thrives in the fast-paced world of construction, where no two days are the same and every project brings a new challenge to solve. He enjoys tackling the technical complexities of each job and finding solutions that keep projects moving forward. He channels the focus and drive that project management brings into his hobbies as well, as he has spent 20+ years in combat sports, motorcycling, and golfing. A proud father of twin daughters, Danny has become an expert in negotiation, multitasking, and conflict resolution, and spends much of his free time supporting their many hobbies + interests.
Monty Kilcup
Principal
Monty brings tremendous energy and ingenuity to his clients. He built his career at GLY by delivering creative, value-based preconstruction services, and accurate, timely estimating based on his deep knowledge of current market unit pricing and trends in commodity pricing. Monty works closely with an agile group of construction management, design, and craft professionals who flex to the ever-evolving needs of a project. He is a specialist in the occupied environment, always thinking outside project confines to develop innovative solutions.
