DEI is the work of the whole. In 2021, GLY formed its DEI Committee to ensure equity work is being prioritized and to center our mission statement in decision making processes. We strive to operate our business in a manner that values the diversity of each team member and makes a positive impact in our community. Our shared future depends on it.

Our DEI Mission

To foster a culture that welcomes a diverse group of skills, perspectives, and experiences—and empowers individuals to succeed and grow.

DEI in How We Build

Training + Development

Understanding bias and inequities through training and conversation, creating a truly inclusive workplace, and empowering employees to be advocates for industry change

Diverse Trade Partners + Suppliers

Identifying and increasing the number of Diverse Trade Partners [DTP] in our Trade Partner + Supplier network, expanding partnerships with contractor organizations, and promoting economic stability in the PNW

Workforce Development

Addressing our industry’s labor shortage by focusing on intentional recruiting, hiring, promotion, and apprentice mentorship practices and participating in programs that raise awareness of career opportunities in the construction trades

Community Impact

Volunteering time and resources to serve others, individually and collectively giving back, and making actions and results transparent

Social Responsibility

Gears of Impact

We realize the interconnectedness of DEI, Safety, and Sustainability. The term sustainable practices has broadened beyond the concept of an environmental footprint—it now includes human rights and social responsibility. At GLY, we believe these three gears must coexist within our lens of governance in order to be a socially responsible corporation.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

2022 Action + Impact Report

Our 2022 Action + Impact Report includes DEI, Safety, and Sustainability as we view them holistically. We firmly believe that when it comes to these vital subjects, we must open-source important concepts not just within our own company but within the community at large.

We look forward to continuing to exchange key ideas with our community, as these topics transcend any one firm or market segment and are critical to the success of our region.
