She is highly detail-oriented, an eager learner, and always emphasizes the importance of staying in close communication. After work, you can find René hiking, painting or drawing, or playing softball and flag football.

Sean Royal

Project Engineer

Sean recently joined GLY after completing two internships which gave him firsthand experience on high-stakes projects in the construction industry. With a degree in Construction Engineering Technology, he brings a solid foundation of technical knowledge and hands-on experience to his role as Project Engineer. In this capacity, he handles key responsibilities in trade management, overseeing work scopes, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and supporting project scheduling and budgeting. A Kirkland native, Sean enjoys spending his free time on Lake Washington, hitting the golf course, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Nate Downs

Assistant Yard Superintendent

Since joining GLY in 2010, Nate has been a valuable member of our Tool + Equipment Yard team, playing an integral role in the smooth operation of our projects. In addition to his supervisory duties, Nate also supports projects through GPR scanning services. Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He is passionate about all types of outdoor activities, particularly those shared with his family.

Cameron Cole

Senior Project Engineer

A Bellevue native, Cameron built the foundation for his career through several internships at GLY and earning a BS in Construction Management from Weber State University. His project experience thus far has focused on downtown Bellevue, including the Lincoln Square Expansion and West Main mixed use development. Off the jobsite, he’s an avid outdoorsman – hunting, fishing, skiing, and backpacking – and volunteering as a member of the King County Search and Rescue team. He recently stepped up to serve on the Coal Creek YMCA board of advisors.

Dan Frye

Layout Superintendent

Dan is GLY’s go-to guy for anything and everything relating to site surveys and layout. As a consummate team player and expert on layout technology, Dan is responsible for not only planning and coordinating project needs with superintendents, but also for training and educating the GLY Layout Crew and helping The Yard with long range equipment planning. When he’s not out in the field, Dan is 100% family man, spending as much time with his wife and kids as he can.

Kevin Eng

Chief Estimator

LEED AP BD+C, Associate DBIA™

Kevin praises the aspect of GLY’s culture that provides a variety of paths for diverse abilities and personalities to flourish. Hired on as a Project Engineer, his exceptional preconstruction planning and cost estimating talent quickly developed. As our Chief Estimator, he provides 24 years of building experience and practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, resources and LEED criteria. A generous mentor and creative thinker, Kevin gets involved to guide and directly support estimating efforts on varied and complex projects at GLY.

Katie Focher

Senior Project Accountant

Katie ventured west from Missoula, Montana to attend Central Washington University where she majored in recreation and tourism and played softball. We love having a ringer on the GLY softball team! When she’s not managing the books for GLY projects she likes to golf, hike, go wine tasting, and watch the Mariners. Her bucket list includes a trip to every MLB stadium, minus Yankee Stadium.
