Over the last 30 years, Donovan’s appreciation for quality craftsmanship combined with his natural ability to manage the many moving parts and pieces of a construction jobsite from start to finish has garnered trust and respect from GLY employees, trade partners, and clients. From interior build-outs to full campus developments, he approaches each project by tapping into each team member’s strengths, talents, and skillsets to develop a thoughtful plan—together. Witnessing that plan unfold successfully is his favorite part of his job. On the home front, there is never a dull moment with his four kids, granddaughter, and three dogs—each bringing joy to the family with their own unique personalities. Skylar, the littlest pup, runs the pack.

Nate Downs

Assistant Yard Superintendent

Since joining GLY in 2010, Nate has been a valuable member of our Tool + Equipment Yard team, playing an integral role in the smooth operation of our projects. In addition to his supervisory duties, Nate also supports projects through GPR scanning services. Outside of work, Nate enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He is passionate about all types of outdoor activities, particularly those shared with his family.

Jose manages the day-to-day activities of a construction site with an infectious positive, can-do attitude. Jose’s obvious dedication to his work, the team, and the client makes him a valuable, well-respected, and influential leader on the jobsite

Annika Gaffney

Human Resources Director

With over 20 years of experience spanning construction, retail, and hospitality, Annika has mastered the art of building and maintaining a positive, inclusive work culture that fosters employee well-being and engagement. Holding a BS in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing, Management, and Entertainment from the University of Montana, Annika brings a blend of creative problem-solving and innovative strategies to her role at GLY. When not at work, she can be found enjoying the outdoors, attending concerts, or cheering at sporting events. Growing up playing softball and spending five years managing, assisting, and playing on the company coed softball team, Annika knows how to bring people together — both on and off the field. As the youngest of six, her experience with juggling multiple personalities is put to good use in HR! Annika is also a proud supporter of Sawhorse Revolution, the AGC Education Foundation, and JDRF Beat the Bridge.

Jeff Angehrn

Senior Construction Engineer

Jeff’s building career began in 1995 and he’s simply one of the best when it comes to complex structures; it’s been said that he’s memorized every detail of every sheet of every project he’s worked on. Plus, he’s repeatedly recognized by his teammates as an exceptional mentor. He holds a BS in Construction Management from Central Washington University. Off the jobsite, Jeff’s an adventurous spirit who enjoys time with family and friends, traveling, boating, snowmobiling, off roading, fishing, and hunting in the remote wilderness.

John Schimke

Director of Field Operations

Maintaining a personal philosophy centered on family and teamwork, John has skillfully delivered many high technology projects in his 30+ years in the construction industry. Having spent the majority of his career at GLY, he has led all operational aspects of a project from preconstruction planning through finished product. A mentor to our superintendents and crew supervisors, and creative problem-solver, John continues to infuse his projects with the highest and most innovative level of service.
