

Senior Estimator
With a 30+ year career in the construction industry, Steven is an Experienced Senior Estimator known for his expertise in Value Engineering, Integrated Project Delivery, Project Engineering, CPM Scheduling, and Constructability. Holding a Master of Engineering in Construction Management and Management Information Systems from the University of British Columbia, as well as an MBA from the University of Singapore and a Bachelor's degree in Building Construction from Shanghai Jiaotong University, Steven brings a wealth of global knowledge to every project. Outside of work, Steven is passionate about staying active and enjoys hiking, jogging, cycling, and other outdoor activities. He’s also training in Filipino martial arts, focusing on Arnis, and is preparing for his black belt test — a journey that combines physical skill with cultural heritage. He is dedicated to promoting human health and wellness, with a personal interest in biology and neuroscience, particularly in areas like weight management and mental well-being. A Seattle resident for over 22 years, Steven roots for the Seattle Seahawks and cherishes time with his wife and teenage daughter.

Senior Project Engineer

Brad is a licensed Civil Engineer with a BSCE from Gonzaga University, but after a few years working in that discipline in Denver, he returned to the PNW to earn a Construction Management certificate from the University of Washington and joined GLY in 2008. His technical engineering skills continue to serve him well in his role as a Senior Project Engineer. He excels in coordinating structural work and large tenant build-outs for healthcare, residential, hospitality, and office high-rise projects. Brad and his family spend their leisure time exploring the world and tackling daunting athletic challenges.

Erik uses his extensive engineering background to assist with integrating mechanical systems into new and existing buildings. With many years of designing mechanical systems under his belt, he’s proven to be an invaluable asset to our clients—specializing in complex life science, technology, industrial, and healthcare projects. Erik previously lived in Colorado, where he developed an obsession for mountain biking. Now racing competitively, he and his family own 12 bikes, living the principle that the correct amount of bikes to own is n+1, with n being the amount of bikes they currently own.

Mike joined GLY in 2013 as a Project Engineer and has steadily increased his responsibilities, becoming a Project Manager in 2020. He holds a BS in Construction Management from the University of Washington, where he later returned to earn a Commercial Real Estate Certificate. That’s just one example of Mike’s passion for continuous learning—and sharing with his teammates. He’s especially versed in the latest developments in 3D modeling and navigating the complex processes of advanced BIM visualization. After a long week at work, Mike burns off steam by running, cycling, and skiing.

Superintendent
As a second generation carpenter, Garth turned out to be a Jr. in more ways than one. Today Garth is a hard-working Superintendent who enjoys building challenges across sectors, from housing to commercial construction. Garth takes a very thorough, caring approach to getting things done on his projects, and enjoys the outdoor life in his spare time—especially riding dirt bikes, camping or doing anything on or near the water.

With 20 years of experience in the construction industry under his belt, Greg appreciates and understands the vital role of Project Engineer [PE]. Today, as PE Operations Manager, he leads the charge in setting Project Engineers up for success—focusing on development, growth, and establishing mentorships. Greg’s ability to recognize and appreciate diversity in personalities and skills among the group helps cultivate a learning environment that leaves plenty of room for exploration and innovation. Outside of work, Greg's go-to pastimes include mountain biking, fly fishing, and cooking for family and friends.

Ben honed his exceptional leadership skills during his first calling as a high school English teacher, coach, and director of admissions. Patient, communicative, and adaptable to change, the AEC industry scored big when he decided to switch gears and earn another degree, this time in Civil Engineering. Progressing from Project Engineer to Project Executive at GLY, he continues to leverage his diverse background—listening intently to clients and teammates prior to making critical decisions. Hailing from Western New York, where cows outnumber residents, Ben remains a loyal Buffalo sports fan—Go Sabres and Bills!

A healthy dose of serendipity led Melanie from the Peace Corps third world to the A/E/C integrated world, where she discovered a love for working with the people behind the concrete. Nearly 20 years later, she is contributing and receiving ideas and inspiration for marketing, communicating, and developing business as the Director of Marketing + Communications at GLY! A self-described thinker, linker, and obstacle shrinker, Melanie likes to approach her work with these three questions: Who is our audience? What do they need? How can we reach them and develop trust?
