Steven is a detail-oriented professional known for his resourcefulness, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication across diverse teams. With experience leading work, maintaining schedules, and overseeing quality assurance, he brings a well-rounded, hands-on approach to every project. Steven’s career began with lutherie—the art of crafting stringed instruments—which sparked his passion for woodworking and led him to run a custom cabinet business in Arizona for over a decade. After relocating to the Seattle area, he joined the Carpenters Union in 2016 and continues to build a career grounded in craftsmanship and service. Outside of work, Steven is an accomplished musician who plays drums for the Seahawks [while playing a wide variety of other instruments at home as well] and has traveled to over 24 countries.

Dan Frye

Layout Superintendent

Dan is GLY’s go-to guy for anything and everything relating to site surveys and layout. As a consummate team player and expert on layout technology, Dan is responsible for not only planning and coordinating project needs with superintendents, but also for training and educating the GLY Layout Crew and helping The Yard with long range equipment planning. When he’s not out in the field, Dan is 100% family man, spending as much time with his wife and kids as he can.

Danielle Sessler

Construction was always part of the plan for Northwest native Danielle, having grown up in a family that owned a contracting business. She took a few detours first, earning a BFA in Metalsmithing and Art History from Central Washington University and working as a Senior Estimator focused on honing her preconstruction services skills. When she landed at GLY in 2013, we quickly recognized her background would be perfect for Design-Build projects. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys hiking, bouldering, climbing—and collecting “odd things that most people scratch their heads over.”

Rick Thompson

General Foreman

As a professional in the industry for more than 50 years, Rick shares advice that has served him well in life: “Love what you do and treat everyone the way you want to be treated.” As a General Foreman at GLY, he finds great satisfaction in working with clients and seeing what the team has accomplished at the end of each day. Building is Rick’s lifelong passion, and it extends into his hobbies as well. You can usually find him in his home shop, where he builds exotic furniture, restores old motorcycles, and crafts his own fishing lures and setups. He also spends time preparing his gear for his favorite seasons—spring and fall—when he takes his fishing boat out on the Puget Sound or heads into the outdoors to enjoy hunting.

Jose Ramos

Jose manages the day-to-day activities of a construction site with an infectious positive, can-do attitude. Jose’s obvious dedication to his work, the team, and the client makes him a valuable, well-respected, and influential leader on the jobsite

Caitlin Eckert

Project Engineer

Bringing a personable and bubbly attitude to project teams, Caitlin has no trouble connecting with any kind of client, owner, or architect. She finds the variability of a Project Engineer’s day-to-day to be fascinating and especially values her time on site which gives her a visual understanding of her work and the project as a whole. Driven by the same sense of curiosity and adventure outside of work, Caitlin stays very active with a variety of hobbies. When she is not trail running, skiing, or climbing, you’ll find her sewing winter adventure hats and hanging out with friends.

Chris Kelley

Project Manager

Chris is a key player on our Interiors + Special Projects team [ISP], collaborating closely with stakeholders and trade partners in sensitive healthcare and life sciences environments. Before moving to the Northwest, he worked on several notable projects in Oregon and California. As a Project Manager, Chris specializes in detailed estimates, trade partner management, and ensuring high-quality, safe, and organized field delivery. Outside of work, he’s an avid backpacker, hiker, dog lover, kayaker, and camper. Fun fact: while attending the University of Texas at Austin, Chris was a member of the Caretaker and Handler team for Bevo, the university’s live longhorn steer mascot!
