Amazon and Mary’s Place announced the official opening of the Mary’s Place Family Center in The Regrade. The 8-floor, 63,000-square-foot facility with the capacity to serve 200 people per night and more than 1,000 family members per year is attached to one of Amazon’s new office buildings in downtown Seattle.

The first permanent Mary’s Place shelter is nearly complete. Located in the heart of Amazon’s Seattle headquarters, the rare purpose-built shelter appears to be the first of its kind built into a corporate office.

Mary’s Place will open its first permanent shelter in early 2020. Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, the shelter is strategically designed, inch-by-inch, to maximize space, inspire community and support the dignity of guests in their journey out of homelessness.

A half-mile stretch of the Elliott Bay Trail that has been closed since last July due to the construction of the new Expedia campus reopens on Saturday, September 7 with a renovated path.
