UW Suzzallo Library Seismic Improvements

Suzzallo Library is a revered landmark of the University of Washington, and we are committed to ensuring its preservation and continued service to the Husky community and future students. Construction Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Current + Upcoming Construction Activities

The following construction activities will be occurring throughout the month of November:

  • Completion of the 1925 South & the 1925 / 1935 Connector scaffold erection
  • Masonry pre-cleaning at the 1925 South & the 1925 / 1935 Connector elevations
  • Mortar removal at the 1925 West & South elevations
  • Tuck-pointing at the 1925 North & West elevations
  • Structural dowel installation at the 1925 West & Northeast masonry caps
  • Masonry pinning at the 1925 West & the 1925 / 1935 Connector Elevation
  • Steel bracing installation at the 1925 West Finials
  • Removal of slate roofing tiles at the permanent roof anchor locations
  • Masonry anchor pull testing
  • Placement of the temporary work decks within the 1925 Towers
  • Conduit relocation and selective finish demolition within Comm Rooms 120 & 320

Upcoming Milestones

  • October 3rd: Complete window surveying
  • October 17th: Complete masonry anchorage at the 1925 North Elevation
  • October 31st: Complete tuckpointing at the 1925 North Elevation
  • October 23rd: Complete scaffold erection at the 1925 South Elevation
  • October 29th: Complete installation of permanent roof anchors at the 1925 Roof
  • November 7th: Complete bracing the 1925 Finials
