UW Suzzallo Library Seismic Improvements

Suzzallo Library is a revered landmark of the University of Washington, and we are committed to ensuring its preservation and continued service to the Husky community and future students. Current + Upcoming Construction Activities

The following construction activities will be occurring throughout the month of April:

  • 1925 Central Roof: ongoing roofing replacement & parapet cap joint sealant
  • 1925 North: partial scaffold demobilization
  • 1925 North: Apse balustrade reinforcing & gutter slab roofing replacement
  • 1925 West: balustrade reinforcing & terracotta cap reinstallation
  • 1925 East: SE parapet bracing and gutter slab roofing
  • Courtyard: partial scaffold demobilization
  • 1935 NW and SW Towers: doweling & concrete & CMU structure placement
  • Smith Room: scaffold erection, plaster ceiling abatement, & MEPF relocation
  • Connector Interior: MEP relocation
  • 1935 South: scaffold erection & masonry pre-cleaning

Upcoming Milestones

  • April 1st: Smith Room: begin partial demolition of plaster ceiling
  • April 6th: 1935 South: begin scaffold erection
  • April 13th: 1925 North: partial scaffold demobolization
  • April 30th: Central Roof: complete new roofing installation
