Vulcan Blocks 25e, 25w + 31 | Seattle
Shell and core construction is in full swing on two blocks between Mercer Avenue and Valley Street at the south end of Lake Union, also known as the Lakefront Blocks, for Vulcan’s new mixed-use transit-oriented development. Google is the primary tenant. Each of four new buildings at the site provides Google with six levels of high-tech office space – which at approximately 607,000 total square feet nearly doubles the size of its Kirkland Campus. The buildings are organized to include alleys or ‘woonerfs’ to allow exterior passage between them, and feature a total of 14,000 square feet of retail at ground level along Valley Street and Terry Avenue. In addition, the project includes residential towers that sit atop two of the buildings and offer 149 apartment units. Completion is scheduled for 2019.
