UW Medicine Neighborhood Clinics | Greater Seattle

The University of Washington Medicine’s Neighborhood Clinics are a network of primary care clinics with nine neighborhood locations throughout the greater Seattle area. Each clinic offers a complete spectrum of services for the entire family, as well as varying on-site laboratory and X-ray facilities. In addition to the Ravenna Clinic at Northcut Landing, GLY also built facilities in the following two locations, employing a Design-Build approach with Lean construction process:

  • Kent/Des Moines | 5,500 square feet of new construction + 2,000 square feet of renovations delivered using a design-build approach and Lean construction process
  • Northgate | 13,000 square feet of clinical space including exam rooms, a radiology suite, diagnostic lab and team pod areas + 7,000 square feet of resident space for medical students in adjacent building

Lean principles throughout preconstruction and construction included pull planning sessions, materials on wheels/carts, just-in-time deliveries, and MEP prefabrication. The benefits included crew leveling, predictable processes, returned savings, and completion ahead of owner goals.
