The Bush School Expansion | Seattle

Phased construction for three new main structures, and an addition to the parking garage with a new gymnasium sitting on the West end above the garage entry, for a total of 71,551 square feet of new building and 57,212 square feet of garage. Scope called for demolition of several existing buildings, renovation of the existing middle school, and construction of a new lower school [K through 5].

The new lower school includes classrooms, administrative rooms, a gymnasium and related support facilities, including underground parking. Additional phases consisted of a new gymnasium, athletic field and playground built over a 125-stall, below-grade parking structure. GLY’s self-performed work included concrete placing and finishing as well as formwork, rough carpentry, layout, control and glulam truss and beam installation.

Owner: The Bush School

Architect: The Miller Hull Partnership, LLP

We appreciate the times that GLY employees made themselves available to classes, including the special tour for the kindergarteners, presentations at assemblies and working with the 6th grade students on their annual architecture project.
