Overlake Medical Center, South Tower | Bellevue

Five-story 138,000 square foot hospital wing with state-of-the-art, 40-station ER department over four floors of underground parking was completely integrated into a fully operational medical campus. Upper floors include high-tech surgical suite with six operating rooms, 32-bed CCU, 36 acuity adaptable beds and 36 medical/surgical beds. Complexities entailed extensive pre-planning for early procurement and phased work, infection control, major renovations of existing buildings, fully integrated MEP systems, re-routed utility infrastructure and on-campus roadways. Project was designed and built for four floors of future vertical expansion.

Ongoing challenges involved working on an occupied, fully functional medical campus while also performing major renovations of campus buildings. Other unique aspects of the project included simultaneous adjacent construction of a city/state public road and medical office building by another contractor. GLY managed access and other issues related to congestion and coordination on a multi-builder site.

I can’t recall how many times one of your team members responded to our requests for assistance with the phrase ‘glad to help’ and took steps to do just that.
