Microsoft FY13 Café Refresh | Redmond

As part of the FY13 Café Refresh program, the 16,000 square foot B16 Café was renovated under a design-build contract. GLY and Gensler worked as a close-knit team to establish a feasible design that met Microsoft’s objectives while staying within their budget. Café revenues increased 43% literally overnight.

Scope of work included interior demolition, nine live cooking stations, a new café entry, espresso station, new exhaust hoods and a pizza oven, updated finishes, signage and AV integration. The entire café is “Market” themed, using local materials such as reclaimed wood planking, hot rolled steel, local farmer’s market posters, black board signage and market wall murals.
