Microsoft B21 WPA 2.0 | Redmond
Renovation on second floor of Building 21 involved completely demolishing the existing interior and rebuilding in accordance with Microsoft’s Workplace Advantage [WPA] program, which seeks to optimize the workplace. Some of the more significant features of this 22,000 square foot renovation are:
- Lync-enabled Focus rooms, which combine high quality VoIP, instant messaging, A/V conferencing and desktop sharing functionality.
- Full height, full width clear glass panels that use liquid crystal technology to transform to opaque with a flip of a switch.
- Lighting control system that allows remote operation and energy usage monitoring of all fixtures throughout the space.
This space also serves as a working lab to test design concepts being considered for inclusion in future WPA environments.
