2005 Poplar Way | Issaquah
After a decade of visioning, 2005 Poplar broke ground in August 2019. The new four-story, approximately 70,000 square foot mixed-use office building is soon to be an iconic welcome to the Issaquah community with its sustainable cross laminated timber [CLT] and illuminated glass staircase. Full height curtainwall exterior promotes transparency and across-floor collaboration, as well as treating Tenants to incredible views of the Cascade foothills. Access to parks and hiking trails await out the back door.
The building frame is structural steel with slab-on-metal deck, and the CLT roof structure is the first of its kind in the City of Issaquah. It is showcased on the fourth floor where it is exposed on the interior and the overhanging exterior eyebrow elements. Brick cladding on the exterior continues the tradition of building with masonry, consistent with the Hyla Crossing neighborhood theme.
To support the structure and related foundation, 104 grout-driven piles are installed approximately 60’ deep. Construction is projected to be complete early summer of 2020.
