GLY Community - Creating a legacy of community care

Northgate Elementary School, Seattle | 2007
GLY employees and their families have been volunteering for NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) Community Enhancement projects for over 20 years. In 2007, over 30 GLY employees joined other NAIOP volunteers to renovate the outdoor playground for Northgate Elementary with a new climbing structure and play area, landscaping, painting and clean-up. In 2006, we created a similar playground for Bailey Gatzert Elementary in the Central District.
Seattle Breast Cancer 3-Day, Seattle | 2006
Fifteen members of the GLY "Breast Foot Forward" team successfully "walked the walk" for 60 miles in support of breast cancer victims, generously funded by GLY friend-and-family contributions of $46,000.
Hope For Horses, Snohomish | 2006
In a colossal three-day commitment of human and equipment resources, GLY dismantled and moved a barn for Hope for Horses, an organization that houses neglected, abused horses and nurses them back to health.
Bush School Expansion Educational, Seattle | 2005
While renovation efforts were underway, GLY team members continuously engaged Bush School students in the construction details of their school expansion project, from integrating project specifications into the math curriculum to leading them on field trips as the site progressed, explaining procedures and phases, and involving them in hands-on activities.
Children's Art Museum, Tacoma | 2004
GLY employees constructed a Parisian Café theme playhouse for the Tacoma Children's Art Museum charitable auction. BCRA Architects paired GLY with the Chief Sponsor of the event, the El Gaucho Restaurant. The Parisian Café fetched the second highest bid at auction — $5,000!
Design in Light, Bellevue | 2004 + 2003
GLY volunteers collaborated with area architects, engineers and subcontractors to construct lighted sculptures for display and charitable auction. Structures as high as 25 feet and as intricate as an origami crane lit up areas of downtown Bellevue during the holiday season.
YMCA Landscaping Event, Auburn | 2004
GLY employees, family and friends volunteered landscaping labor at the new facility, saving the YMCA more than $2,000 and enabling them to purchase necessary equipment.
